For something so essential, it is remarkable how much ceremony we have built around it. The kettle that takes four minutes to do one thing. The filter jug living in the fridge, forever half-empty, forever needing its cartridge changed. The bottles of sparkling water carried home from the shop, stored, chilled, recycled, repeated. Every kind of water you might want comes with its own small ritual of waiting, refilling and remembering.
For 18 years, we have been quietly working on that problem. What began as a commercial water services business became Aquataps, a straightforward and trusted name in kitchen taps, and has now grown into something with bigger ambitions: to rethink what water at home could actually feel like. Not just functionally, but as part of your kitchen, your morning, your everyday rhythm.
We stopped asking how to make a better tap and started asking a better question: what if water simply behaved?
What if every kind of water you could want was already there, waiting for you for a change? Boiling for the teapot, chilled for the glass, sparkling for the table, filtered for the pan, and hot and cold for everything else. That is the product we built. Six waters. One tap. The moment you ask.
A product like that needed a name worthy of the idea. Something short, elegant and quietly confident. A name that felt refined without being complicated. Modern, but not cold. Simple, but not ordinary.
We found it in a word that carries exactly the right weight: Quel.
The spelling is deliberate. Clean on the eye, considered on the page. It carries the sound and the meaning of quell while feeling like something genuinely new, which is, in many ways, exactly what we are. Quel Tap was created for kitchens where everything has its place. Where design, convenience and performance work together without noise, clutter or compromise.
Our line is Water, beautifully controlled. Not controlled in the sense of complicated, but controlled in the sense a great kitchen is controlled: everything in its place, everything ready, nothing demanding. Calm. Capable. Quietly excellent.
The name Aquataps served us honestly and well. But it described what we made, not why we made it. Quel Tap speaks to the idea underneath everything we have built for nearly two decades: that the small daily frustrations of water in a kitchen do not have to exist. That boiling water should not require a separate appliance crowding the worktop. That still, chilled and sparkling should not mean three different things taking up space in the fridge. That filtered water should not mean a jug nobody remembers to fill.
The waiting, the refilling, the appliances, the bottles. All of it can go quiet.
That is what we make possible. And that is what we have always stood for. We are just finally wearing a name that says it.
