How Does a Sparkling Water Tap Work?
- A compact insulated boiler unit sits under your sink, heating filtered water to up to 98°C and keeping it ready to dispense instantly.
- An integrated chiller unit cools filtered water to between 4°C and 10°C, ready to be carbonated on demand.
- A sparkling water module infuses the chilled filtered water with CO2 from an external cylinder, delivering consistently fizzy sparkling water at the turn of a handle or press of a button.
- An advanced filtration system removes chlorine, heavy metals, limescale and other impurities, ensuring every glass of sparkling water tastes clean and fresh.
- Filters should be replaced every six months to maintain performance and warranty coverage.
Switching between sparkling, chilled, boiling and standard water is simple and safe, with user-friendly controls and a spring-loaded child safety lock ensuring the boiling function is always used deliberately.

What is a sparkling water tap?
A sparkling water tap is a boiling water tap that also dispenses chilled sparkling filtered water on demand. It combines an under-sink boiler, chiller and CO2 carbonation module into one compact system, giving you instant access to multiple water temperatures and types from a single tap.
What is the difference between a 5-in-1 and a 6-in-1 sparkling water tap?
A 5-in-1 sparkling water tap delivers boiling filtered, chilled sparkling filtered, cold filtered, standard hot and cold water. The 6-in-1 Quel Ultimo adds filtered ambient drinking water as a sixth function, along with a more advanced digital control system, LED display and Bluetooth app connectivity.
Do sparkling water taps need a CO2 cylinder?
Yes. The sparkling water function is powered by an external CO2 cylinder that connects to the chiller unit beneath your sink. Replacement CO2 supplies are available directly from Quel Tap. The amount of carbonation can be adjusted using a CO2 regulator.
Are sparkling water taps safe?
Yes. All Quel Tap sparkling water taps feature a spring-loaded child safety lock on the boiling water function, ensuring near-boiling water can only be dispensed deliberately. The insulated spout remains cool to the touch during use.
Is next day delivery available?
Yes. Next day delivery is available across the UK on all sparkling water taps. Order before the daily cut-off and your tap will arrive the following day.
